Week 12: end of the first trimester
You've (almost) finished the first trimester. For many mamas this is the week of relief: nausea fading, energy returning, miscarriage risk dropping dramatically.
The baby now
- Weighs about 14g, measures 6-7 cm
- Has all organs formed (time for "Nuchal Translucency" or combined screening)
- Moves a lot, even though you don't feel it yet
What changes for you
- Belly starting to be visible — especially at end of day
- Cravings can get strange (normal)
- Smell still amplified
- Energy returning: take advantage for moderate activity
To do
- If not done, book the nuchal translucency visit (by week 13+6)
- Start thinking if and when to tell work
- Start reading about big choices (OB-GYN for birth, hospital, prenatal class)
