In pregnancy: Caution While breastfeeding: Safe

Rare, but serious if it happens

Why

Only if thoroughly cooked and from a safe source (farmed or inspected): higher toxoplasmosis and trichinella risk than farmed meat. Game that was shot is best avoided altogether — it may contain lead pellets.

It changes after the birth

You can eat this again while breastfeeding: the pregnancy-specific risks (listeria, toxoplasmosis, salmonella) no longer apply after birth. Keep normal food hygiene.
