Seaweed (nori, wakame, kombu, kelp)

In pregnancy: Caution While breastfeeding: Caution

It depends how much

Why

Nori and wakame are fine in small amounts. Brown seaweeds such as kombu and kelp are very rich in iodine, and too much iodine is also bad for the thyroid: do not use them often or in large amounts. Avoid hijiki seaweed altogether.
